Frank Pali presents Wildlife Essentials

Come join us for a special photography presentation by local photographer Frank Pali, as he shares his expert knowledge on wildlife photography. He will be sharing tips such as getting close safely, how to keep it steady and aperture priority vs shutter priority.

Meet Frank and see some of his stunning photographs. Frank is a photographer with an enthusiasm for capturing a wide span of images. From contemporary portraiture through commercial imagery, landscapes and wildlife, Frank's high level finishing and attention to detail is evident in every photo, many of which are represented by a number of the world's largest stock agencies. Frank's images have graced numerous magazine, brochures, point of purchase materials and books.

Frank is a certified photography judge and member of C.A.P.A. (Canadian Association of Photographic Art).

Burnaby Photographic Society presents...

This year the Burnaby Photographic Society celebrates 23 years of presenting to the public our high-quality slide shows put to music. Our 23rd Annual Showcase will take you around the world with an evening of slide shows set to music and a dramatic print display during the previous week. Showcase will sweep you off to exotic places and cultures, and bring you up close to wildlife, fine art, and visual surprises. Tickets come with a chance to win valuable door prizes. Also, the free print display in the Shadbolt Centre's lobby will run all week from January 21st through January 26th, 2019.

North Shore Photographic Challenge

Top photographers of BC and the Yukon will go head to head with their best work at the 35th North Shore Photographic Challenge. Previously restricted to photo clubs, this year’s Challenge also includes entries from individual photographers, a change designed to raise competitive pressure, encourage diversity, and bring newcomers into the photo club community.

The open-theme competition will showcase the latest digital techniques in abstracts and altered reality, classic landscapes, portraits, nature and architectural compositions, and gritty, funny street photography. Having grown in stature over thirty years, the Challenge is recognized as the premier photographic competition in Western Canada.

Images will be scored by a qualified judging panel. Winners will be recognized with prestigious CAPA medals

Members of the audience will take home a large number of photography-related door prizes donated by our generous corporate sponsors.
